Pay: $20/hour plus tips
Position Overview
As an Instructor at Meadowlark Lodge, you’ll be primarily responsible for providing safe and engaging alpine skiing and/or snowboarding instruction to guests of all ages and ability level. As ski school will be new to Meadowlark Lodge this year, this is a great opportunity to help shape the new program! This role focuses on helping guests develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of snow sports while delivering exceptional guest service and creating memorable mountain experiences. Instructors serve as ambassadors for the resort, promoting safety, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring that lessons align with resort standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach skiing and/or snowboarding lessons to individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels
- Assess guest abilities and customize instruction to meet learning objectives and personal goals
- Prioritize safety by following all resort operating procedures, risk management practices, and mountain safety guidelines
- Create a fun, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment that builds guest confidence and promotes skill progression
- Communicate effectively with guests, parents, and team members regarding lesson plans, progress, and recommendations
- Assist guests with equipment use, mountain navigation, and understanding resort policies
- Maintain professional certifications and participate in ongoing training and development programs
- Support resort initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction, retention, and overall experience
- Support other departments with guest facing services or back of house needs when needed
Are you the right fit? Below are some traits an ideal candidate possesses:
- Experience skiing and/or snowboarding at an intermediate to advanced level
- A passion for snow sports
- Can demonstrate patience and adaptability both within the Meadowlark team and while interacting with guests
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Willing to assist in areas outside primary responsibilities when needed, actively contributing to the overall success of the Ski & Ride School and resort operations
Requirements:
- Certification through a recognized ski or snowboard instruction organization is preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and peak periods
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow and wind
- Ability to ski/snowboard, stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including shoveling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations
