Position Overview
As a Mechanic at Meadowlark, you execute safety best practices to the best of your ability, as well as maintaining a fun, friendly, and positive attitude every day, with all guests and employees. As a Mechanic, are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing our resort fleet, including our two ski lifts. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs in a variety of weather conditions. If successful in this role, there may be opportunities to extend employment beyond winter season.

Lift Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on ski lifts to ensure safe operation
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical lift components
- Conduct inspections and testing of lifts in compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards
- Respond to lift malfunctions and breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with the Lift Operations team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Document all maintenance and repairs, maintaining detailed logs and records
- Assist in major lift overhauls, including the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of components
- Participate in training and safety meetings to stay current on industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, industry standards, and local/state regulations
General Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and performs major repairs and overhauls to gasoline and diesel engines & generators, inspects, troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, cleans, adjusts and installs fuel, ignition, electrical, cooling system, hydraulic system parts and/or controls, and welding
- Diagnoses and performs electrical, hydraulic and other repairs in the field
- Inspects, services and repairs vehicle braking systems; diagnoses, repairs and maintains vehicle air brakes, hydraulic systems and associated power take-off equipment
- Engages around priorities to foster engagement, collaboration, and results
- Adhere and promote company safety policies and programs
- Supports other properties as needed
Are you the right fit? Below are some traits an ideal candidate possesses:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in lift maintenance or a similar field
- Familiarity with lift systems and components, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Strong understanding of safety practices related to lift maintenance and operation.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and at high elevations.
Requirements:
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license, clean driving record
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems and take action before they become emergencies
- Ability to analyze complex vehicle and equipment problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend or adopt appropriate courses of action
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and reporting
- Availability for flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and walk 10,000+ steps per day
- Ability to kneel, stand for extended periods, and work in elevated or confined spaces
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Full mobility and physical fitness to handle the demands of the job.
